Molly Shick is an agricultural specialist and an audit team member with Aster Global.
In this role, Ms. Shick utilizes her extensive experience as a crop farmer and consultant to assist with and conduct desktop and field validation and verification of Agriculture, Forestry, and other Land Use (AFOLU) carbon offset projects including community, biodiversity, and sustainable development standards. Her work currently includes a focus on Agricultural Land Management (ALM) for REDD projects around the world.
As a field scientist, she brings unique and varied experiences as a farmer, crop consultant, and former crop insurance adjuster, and applies those experiences to facilitate onsite validation and verification projects. She has a strong focus on the agricultural components of validation and verification.
Prior to joining Aster Global, Ms. Shick operated a successful crop consulting business where she focused on soil health and performed intensive insect, disease, and invasive weed scouting and remediation. She also worked on extensive water quality projects with The Ohio State University Extension Service. In her previous role as a crop insurance adjuster, she combined traditional evaluation methods with precision technology to assess crop damage and calculate the financial impact.
Ms. Shick actively farms 1300+ acres with her family in Ohio. Her extensive experience utilizing technology for soil sampling and yield mapping translates to her current role increasing efficiency of validation and verification projects. She has been recognized by The Ohio State University as one of the Top 100 Women In Agriculture.
