Mansfield Fisher is the Forestry Validation and Verification Sector Manager with Aster Global Environmental Solutions. In this role, Mr. Fisher is responsible for all Forestry Validation/Verification projects, with his primary focus on ensuring efficient and effective project reviews resulting in high-quality and timely deliverables for external clients. He is a forester and biometrician and serves as a Lead Verifier for multiple programs including VCS, Plan Vivo, FCPF Carbon Fund, and ACR. Mr. Fisher also works as part of the cross-functional team that leads all carbon footprint analyses and Life Cycle Assessment projects.

Mr. Fisher brings a wealth of previous experience to this role and has worked in the areas of forestry and economics for the last 7 years. His experience in the development of functional economic models that utilized both remote sensing data and forest inventory data is ciritical for his current role. Mr. Fisher worked with both NGOs and private sector firms to develop targeted research questions and implement projects to answer those questions. Some of his work was specifically related to helping private entities  understand the benefits of carbon offsett projects and the associated project development budgets. He has first-hand experience analyzing LULC change data and national scale forest monitoring data.

Prior to joining Aster Global, Mr. Fisher worked as a Conservation Coordinator for The Nature Conservancy creating, managing, and reporting on successful forest restoration projects. He has also held multiple roles in which he collected forestry data that was used in research, mitigation, and restoration projects. Mr. Fisher brings a unique perspective as he has worked for corporations, non-profits, and state organizations/agencies. Some of his previous roles include Wetland Mitigation Monitoring Technician,  Forestry Burn Crew Member,  Forestry Field Technician, Lead Reserch Technician, and as a First Mate on a commercial fishing vessel.

Mr. Fisher is a published researcher in the Carbon Offset marketplace and has been a presenter in related areas. He continues to work with Foresters and Economists from the US Forest Service and academic institutions to improve timber supply and demand models commonly used in industry and academic research.
