Caitlin Sellers is a Senior Forester and Lead Auditor for Aster Global Environmental Solutions, Inc., with over 15 years of experience in forestry, GHG emissions reduction/removal projects, ecology, community assessment and engagement, wetland assessment and mitigation, and natural resource management. Ms. Sellers specializes in GHG offset project validations and verifications, wetland surveys, habitat assessments, endangered and threatened species surveys, community and biodiversity assessments, and ecosystem services assessment and planning. She has several years of experience as a Certified Forester and Lead Validator/Verifier for numerous carbon registries, programs and jurisdictions, which enabled her to conduct the GHG validations/verifications of many agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU) emission reduction/removal projects in the United States and around the world.
At Aster Global, Ms. Sellers is responsible for project management and client coordination, while also conducting technical review services such as GHG validations/verifications, community monitoring and assessment, forest inventories and assessments, vegetative community characterizations, and carbon project feasibility assessments.
Her extensive knowledge of the specific protocols, methodologies, and standards within each GHG program allows her to effectively understand and meet specific and nuanced project requirements and milestones. Ms. Sellers also has expertise in the areas of legal and ownership review, eligibility, additionality, and applicability related to the validation and verification of project elements.
Prior to joining Aster Global Environmental Solutions, Ms. Sellers was a senior forester/senior wetland scientist and lead verifier. Her specific focus was on wetlands and wildlife delineation, protection, mitigation, and permitting at the state and federal level, which makes her well suited for Blue Carbon projects and activities.
Over her career, she has worked extensively on project validation and verifications performed under the following Programs: Climate, Community & Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA), California Air Resources Board (ARB), Verra, Climate Action Reserve (CAR), and American Carbon Registry (ACR).
