
Yadav Sapkota is a senior soil scientist with Aster Global Environmental Solutions.
In this role, his duties include conducting soils work for carbon offset crediting projects, auditing carbon offset crediting projects, and soil mapping. He routinely works as a member of multiple audit teams on AFOLU GHG offset credit projects.
Prior to joining Aster Global, Mr. Sapkota worked in a variety of research positions where he gained valuable experience related to the carbon and voluntary carbon markets. Specifically, he has worked for Bennett Aerospace, Inc. at US Army Engineer Research and Development Center where he led field and laboratory experiments on the effect of storm surges on coastal wetland carbon characters and iron sulfide formation.
He has specific experience with the development and management of nutrient management plans for livestock farms and has worked extensively in the areas of nutrient management related to water quality.
Mr. Sapkota is a published researcher with multiple peer-reviewed articles on the topics of coastal wetland stock characters and blue carbon stocks. He has also developed a scientific framework for crediting the efforts that avoid the loss of stored carbon in the ecosystem to increase carbon offsets in restoration projects.
