Josh Bankston is a forest biometrician for Aster Global Environmental Solutions. In this role, Mr. Bankston is responsible for the quantitative review of client and project data for carbon sequestration validation and verification projects. His responsibilities include meeting the internal and external client objectives in the fields of forest inventory and sampling, growth and yield modeling, and directly in support of offset validation/verification projects.
Mr. Bankston brings a wealth of previous experience to this role and has worked in the areas of forestry, growth and yield modeling, and forest carbon modeling for the last 9 years. In his prior roles as a Forest Analyst and GIS Analyst, he developed web-based tools to aid in forest yield projection and inventory management. He also worked to improve existing models through vigorous QA/QC processes, spatial analysis, and remote sensing.
Mr. Bankston has extensive practical experience with industry standard software tools that allows him to create, assess, and analyze forestry models accurately and efficiently.
Most recently, Mr. Bankston has been working on a number of validation and verification projects in both the ACR and Verra methodologies.Prior to joining Aster Global, Mr. Bankston worked as a Forest Analyst, GIS Analyst, and Inventory Analyst with a widely recognized consulting firm where he provided analysis and decision-making tools to a diverse clientele. He is recognized for running growth and yield models for both forest inventory and carbon inventory and providing custom web-based tools to aid in accurate decision making.
