Drake Fisher Manager, Industrial Validation & Verification with Aster Global

As the Manager of Industrial Validation and Verification Sector for Aster Global Environmental Solutions, Mr. Fisher focuses on climate services, corporate responsibility, energy efficiency projects, GHG Inventory verifications, and offset project validation/verifications in the voluntary market. He is responsible for the day-to-day project management of all industrial validation and verification projects and works closely with clients to ensure all projects meet Aster’s high-quality standards and are delivered on schedule. Mr. Fisher also plays a key role in the strategic analysis of the industrial carbon sector, working to ensure that Aster Global continues to be an industry leader providing innovative and cost-effective services to its clients around the world.

In addition to his management responsibilities, Mr. Fisher is also a lead validator and verifier of both mandatory and voluntary industrial carbon projects. He specializes in validating/verifying GHG inventories and carbon offset projects, ensuring safeguards are in place to protect stakeholders and maintain transparency and trust in the carbon markets.

In the past three years, he has worked on 30+ validations, verifications, and methodology assessments for mandatory and voluntary reporting through the following programs.

  • The Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)
  • American Carbon Registry (ACR)
  • British Columbia Output Based Pricing System (BC OBPS)
  • Saskatchewan Output Based Pricing System (SASK OBPS)
  • Ontario Emissions Reporting Standard (ON EPS)
  • The Climate Registry (TCR)
  • CDP
  • The GHG Protocol (Scope 1, 2, and 3)

In his current role, Mr. Fisher draws on his prior experience as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in new product development, and manufacturing processes of power tools and chemical monitoring equipment. As a lead engineer he was awarded 4 patents for innovative part/system designs. In those engineering roles Mr. Fisher was responsible for overseeing a small design team, developing risk assessments, conducting safety testing, and preparing compliance documentation. His experience with system design and standards compliance are the direct foundation of his unique skills as a greenhouse gas auditor.
