Mr. McMahon is a Senior Manager and Lead Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Validator/Verifier for the Forestry, Carbon, and GHG Services Division of ESI, with over 19 years of experience in forestry, ecology, natural resource management, arboricultural, and GHG reduction/removal projects. Mr. McMahon specializes in GHG validations/ verifications, carbon sequestration project development, development/implementation of management plans for the enhancement of carbon stocks, development of carbon and environmental asset tracking programs, arboricultural and biological assessments, land management, habitat assessments, endangered/threatened species surveys, and ecosystem services assessment/planning. He is a Certified Forester under the Society of American Foresters, Certified Lead Verifier for the Climate Action Reserve, Certified Lead Verifier for the CA Air Resources Board, and a Verified Carbon Standard AFOLU-Wetland Restoration and Conservation expert. Mr. McMahon is approved to conduct GHG validations and/or verification for the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), California Air Resources Board (ARB), Climate Action Reserve (CAR), American Carbon Registry (ACR), CarbonFix Standard (CFS), Pacific Carbon Trust (PCT), Natural Forest Standard (NFS), Plan Vivo, and Climate Community, and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA) and has conducted 70+ GHG validations/ verifications of numerous carbon sequestration projects around the world. At ESI, Mr. McMahon is responsible for team management, client coordination, and performance of senior technical project management, such as conducting third-party, independent GHG validations and verifications. Mr. McMahon also leads lectures and seminars throughout the United States regarding sustainable resource topics, forest carbon project development, and verification.
